BGI Smart Switches & Sensors Debut at International WorkBoat Show
Blue Guard Innovations Attends Trade-Only Conference and Expo For Commercial Vessel Owners, Operators, and Builders
The Blue Guard Innovations (BGI) team will be on deck for the first time at next week’s International WorkBoat Show booth #4064 in New Orleans to introduce visitors to the BGI range of smart switches & sensors which are capable of detecting oil and fuel in bilges and alerting the vessel operator of high water detection events.
The innovative, patented range of solid-state smart switches and sensors detect oil and fuel as well as water in the bilge and engine compartments, preventing them from accidentally discharging overboard.
The flagship product in the BGI range, the BG-ONE, was the winner of the product innovation award in the Mechanical Systems category at IBEX in October and received a Special Mention from the DAME Design Award 2018 judges in the machinery, propulsion, mechanical and electrical systems and fittings category at METSTRADE in Amsterdam earlier this month.
The BG-One functions as a bilge pump switch that helps prevent oil or fuel from being pumped into oceans, lakes, and waterways.
The BGI range also includes the BG-SWA, a combined bilge pump switch, and high water alarm.
The BG-SWA uses two integrated sensors to detect liquid in the bilge while activating the bilge pump. With no moving parts that can be jammed or damaged, the BG-SWA is built to outlast all the mechanical float switches on the market while alerting of water present in the bilge.
