Blue Guard Innovations to Exhibit at Pacific Marine Expo
BGI Attending the Largest Commercial Marine Trade Show on the West Coast
The Blue Guard Innovations (BGI) range of smart switches & sensors, which are capable of detecting oil and fuel in bilges and high water, will be on display in booth #1008 at PME 2018, November 18-20 at the CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle.
Smart bilge pump switch technology of the patented BG-One precisely detects oil and fuel with accuracy down to 1mm. The BG-ONE was the winner of a product innovation award at IBEX last month and was been nominated for a DAME Design Award and given a special mention at METSTRADE in Amsterdam this past week. The solid-state bilge pump switch and alarm sensor enable boat operators to control their bilge pumps and mitigate oil or fuel pollution. BG-ONE differentiates between water, oil/fuel, and air and will trigger an alarm if either fuel or oil is detected in the bilge.
The BGI range also includes the BG-SWA, detects fluid in the bilge, and will automatically turn ON the bilge pump. The bilge pump will turn OFF when no water or liquid is detected. Continuous fluid detection of 3 seconds (factory default setting) will trigger the high water alarm - this can signify a non-working or overwhelmed bilge pump.
The BG-SWA also offers programmable splash protection, which can be used in rough waters or foul weather conditions to prevent false pump activation which can result in the pump running dry. The BG-SWA can be configured and tested and its status can be viewed using the BGI Config App, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. The App is used on a mobile device with Bluetooth to wirelessly connect to the BG-SWA device.
